Using the correct products, and a correct aftercare routine are essential to get the best from your hair extensions.

Many shampoos, conditioners and styling products that are not specifically designed for use with human hair extensions can cause dryness, tangling and compromised bonds.

Ask you hair extensions technician what they would recommend.

Regular scheduled maintenance appointments with your hair extension technician are also essential to ensure that you get the best possible experience with your hair extensions

After Your Fitting:

  • If you've had a fitting using pre-bonded hot fusion, refrain from washing your hair for 2-3 days to let the bonds fully harden.

  • Washing your hair earlier may weaken the bonds/beads,leading to premature loss of extension strands or shedding.

  • Tie your hair in a loose braid when sleeping.

Hair Coloring:

  • It is not recommended to colour your hair extensions as it may not yield the desired results and could compromise the quality of the hair/bonds/beads.

  • Any colouring, including the use of 'silver' or lightening shampoos, is done at your own risk.

  • No responsibility is taken for damage or poor outcomes resulting from hair coloring gone wrong.

  • If colouring your own hair with extensions, ensure to keep the colour away from the extension bonds or beads.

Hair Brushing:

  • When the extension hair are wet, use only a wide-tooth comb or detangling brush on your hair extensions.

  • When the hair is dry, use a specialized hair extension brush designed to prevent snagging.

  • Always support your bonds

Washing & Drying Extensions:

  • It's recommended to wash your extensions 2 times a week. Before washing, ensure the hair is untangled and separate the bonds/beads at the root to prevent matting as the extensions grow down.

  • Use only shampoo, conditioner, and heat protection specifically designed for hair extensions to avoid dryness, tangling, shedding, and compromised bonds.

Washing:

  • Gently smooth shampoo down the extension hair to prevent tangling.

  • Condition from the mid-lengths to the ends, avoiding the bonds.

  • Wash your hair upright in the shower and pat dry with a towel, don't over rub.

Drying:

  • Apply a heat protection serum when the hair is damp and dry the roots on a cool setting.

  • Section your hair and blow dry each section using a round vent or hair extension brush.

  • Avoid allowing extensions to dry naturally or rough drying them.

  • Make sure the root area is fully dry to prevent bacterial buildup.

Heat - Holidays - Sunbeds:

  • When using a sunbed, protect your extensions by wrapping them in a towel.

  • Avoid getting extension hair wet in pools or sea while on holiday to prevent drying and bond breakdown or bead corrosion.

  • Be cautious of blond extensions as chlorine or sun creams can cause discoloration.

  • Prevent contact with chlorine or sun cream to maintain the color of blond extensions. This is due to discolouration.
